A scissor lift is a mobile work platform designed to drive at a safe height. Ideal for working indoors between racking systems, within a warehouse or logistics environment, fitting lighting, rooflights, sprinklers, or even fire alarms. Outdoors applications include cladding, curtain walling, fitting external signage, window replacement or exterior painting to name but a few.
This type of lift does not provide outreach other than a small roll out deck that depending upon the machine increases the deck size by anything from 0.5m to 1.2m. As scissor lifts operate vertically to allow access to areas at height the machine must be on level ground and sited directly below or alongside the target work area. If you can’t get this close then you may wish to consider a Cherry Picker rather than scissor lift hire. Feel free to take advantage of our free site survey if you are not sure what you need. National Platforms network of members can ensure fast, flexible machine hire whatever the environment may be.
Low level access hire is a cost-effective, safe alternative to using aluminium towers, ladders and steps. Ideal for indoor usage such as working on lighting, indoor painting, heating & ventilation, M + E and general factory maintenance. If wind rated low level access can also be hired for window cleaning, external factory maintenance or even projects such as fitting CCTV.
Available in a range of working heights up to 5 meters, we can provide machines which are either manual or battery powered and self-propelled. Push-around or ‘manual’ machines are easier and more productive than manual access, allowing users to position the platform exactly where it’s needed. This makes jobs easier and quicker. Self-propelled machines allow the user to reposition the machine whilst elevated; meaning less time is used moving the machine to the correct location.
In order to be correctly used, low level access platforms must be parked underneath or parallel to the target area. They are very lightweight and are ideal in buildings with numerous floors such as hospitals, office blocks and council buildings as they can be transported via the lift system and on to mezzanine floors. If you need access equipment with more outreach ability, a boom lift may be more suited to your requirements.
